Weekend Update: Adventures at the Beercade

Ahh. That moment when dinner has been placed for delivery is in the oven, and you sit down with a glass of wine and some peace and quiet to write.

OK, let's be honest. There is always piece and quiet in my home, we have no kids, and we're pretty lazy, so it's not like I haven't had a minute until now, at 8:30pm on Sunday night to write. But I digress.

We're at the end of yet another weekend—the first of many busy ones in March. How the heck is it already March?! I've said it before and I'll say it again, it's insane how fast time flies. This is a revelation of my mid-to-late 20s. I don't recall time moving this fast in high school or college. I digress again.

Friday night, I hit up Happy Hour with a few co-workers before heading home to hang out with the hubby. Our Friday was very similar to last week's, so just go ahead and check that out. One thing exciting about Friday was my delivery from Warby Parker! If you're not familiar, it's a website for glasses and you can order up to five frames to try on at home before you buy. They ship them to you (free), you can keep what you like, and if you don't like any, send 'em back (free) and that's that! Unfortunately, I didn't have any success, but it was fun having my husband cackle at my eyewear fashion show.
Saturday, I did some things around the house before heading to the gym for the first time since LAST Saturday. I've been sick all week, and this was the first time my respiratory system felt up to it. Needless to say, I got in a great workout! Need to get back and stay back this week. Came home, had a light lunch, and got ready for our evening out with our favorite couple.
We wanted to do something different than just dinner and drinks, so, being the loving wife and fiance that we are, Kate and I offered up a Beercade. Yes it's exactly what it sounds like - an arcade that serves beer. Good beer, too.  In any case, we had dinner at the Trencherman for the first time. We tried something called Pickle Tots, followed by awesome burgers, accompanied by good beer, and we finished with some chocolate mouse-mango-chile combination. And off to the beercade we went.

I could not believe how packed this place was! I don't know what I was expecting, but it definitely wasn't this. Kate and I sat at the bar while the boys played little hearts out. Hubs and I stopped for a nightcap on the way home and we were in bed by 3am. Oops.

Sunday, we slept late (see 3am bedtime above) and spend the first half of the day being lazy. I ventured out to new spot for lunch called the The Big Cheese, where I helped myself to grilled cheese, tomato soup and some fried pickles. I LOVE me some friend pickles. These weren't the best, but serves me right for eating them. All.

During some wallet spring cleaning, I remembered I had a gift certificate from Christmas to Victoria's Secret that I still hadn't used, so of course, I went out for a second time on a Sunday. This is big, people. I got a bunch of new underwear that I desperately needed (TMI?) and then went on over to Express. I got the items below with one of those $XX of $XX purchase coupons that I won't shop at Express without, and got some gems!

And here we are. I'm watching the latest Batman installment and getting ready to eat the dinner that just arrived came out of the oven. (I think I'm starting Weight Watchers tomorrow.)
