Weekend Update: Nashville Does Chicago

Happy Monday...said nobody ever.

I hate Mondays, especially this one, so thank goodness it's almost over. I'm a big believer in "tomorrow's a new day, " so I can't wait for the clock to strike 12.

I won't go into details but I can tell you that the Packers vs Seahawks game played a role. What a terrible job by the "referees." What should have been an interception was ruled a touchdown and the Packers were robbed. I love this tweet from @ReignofTroy:

Packers, you boys got schiested! (How do you spell that? I'm sticking with the 'i before e, except after c' rule...)

Luckily, I had a pretty stellar weekend with another one on the way. It's my birthday week (yay!) and we're headed to Seattle (city of evil) on Friday for Tough Mudder and weekend of celebration. Anxiety is my first name right now.

Tonight I'm linking up for my Weekend Update:

Our great friends, Annie and Bret, were visiting this weekend from Nashville. Annie planned quite the weekend for her man's suprise 30th birthday celebration in Chicago. We started off with drinks at the Signature Lounge at the top of the Hancock Building on Friday after work, followed by dinner at Lou Malnati's and drinks at Tavern on Rush. Gorgeous view of my favorite city:

On Saturday, we were up early to head downtown to Theory to watch the Hawkeyes. Theory is Bret's favorite Chicago bar and it's a bonus that it's an Iowa bar. Once, he came here for a medical conference and spent every day watching sports at Theory. True story. Anyway, we watched a terrible game of football and then went on a mini bar crawl to nearby bars.

Here's what I wore:

How fun are my pants!? Best $19 I ever spent. You should go to Old Navy and buy them now! Oh and sorry about the bags under my eyes. I told you, it was early.

The best part of my day was definitely at Public House where I saw Ed Swiderski and Sarah Newlon. You know, from Bachelor Pad 3? Oh wait, you don't know, because I'm the only person in the world who watches that crap? I was a stage 5 creeper, I will admit. I was totally starstruck. You would have thought it was Jennifer Aniston and Ryan Gosling by the way I was acting. I happened to run into Sarah in the bathroom and was all, "Has anyone ever told you that you look like Sarah from The Bachelor?" and she was all "OMG, that's me!" Conversation ensued, she introduced me to Ed and we took a pic. BF4E.

Sunday, you know I went to the Bears' game. It wasn't sooo bad. We hit it so hard on Saturday though, that we were pretty tame on Sunday. It was a beautiful fall day and I was able to come up with a totes cute outfit, if I do say so myself. Check it out:

Thanks again, Old Navy. And yes, I did take this in the bathroom.

The rest of Sunday was spent just as I told you it should be: on the couch.

How was your weekend?

  1. I love that you used the "has anyone ever told you you look like..." line to start a conversation. It's like a bad pickup line that worked! Ok, and I am SOOOO out of the loop that I would never recognize those people. Except that guy Ed was sort of dating someone I am friends with on Facebook, so he does look familiar but I had no idea he was a pseudo-celebrity. Thanks for linking up with us, my fellow Chicago blogger!

Best finale episode ever of BP!
Did you get any reality TV gossip?
